Your first week — don't overthink it
Valorant is simpler than it looks. Attackers plant a spike, defenders stop them or defuse it. Win 13 rounds first. Buy weapons with credits from kills and rounds. That's the whole game.
Don't learn agents first — learn the maps. Know the callouts, plant sites, chokepoints, common one-way smokes. Bind, Haven, and Ascent are the easiest to start with. Agent abilities are useless if you don't know where to use them.
Play your role, not your stats
A decent team has: one Duelist (entry fragger), one Sentinel (defensive anchor), one Initiator (info and setup), one Controller (smokes). The fifth is flexible — usually a second duelist.
Nobody cares about your K/D if you played your role. A Sentinel who holds a site solo and delays the enemy for 30 seconds did their job. An Initiator who clears angles for the entry fragger wins rounds. Play your role.
Ranking up is about consistency, not aim
Pick 2-3 agents and master them. Knowing exactly where to place your utility and when wins way more games than being able to flex to every role. You don't need a big pool, you need a deep one.

What agents are best for beginners?
Phoenix (duelist, self-healing), Sage (sentinel, healing and walls), and Brimstone (controller, easy smoke placement) are the most beginner-friendly agents. Their abilities are straightforward and forgiving compared to high-skill agents like Jett or Chamber.
How do I improve my aim?
Practice in the Range for 10 minutes before queuing. Use the medium bots with a Vandal or Phantom. Focus on crosshair placement at head level — your crosshair should always be at the height where an enemy head would appear. Pre-aim common angles instead of flicking to them.
What's the ranked system in Valorant?
